This policy explains what we collect through greatmenshealth.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. Health information you share with us as a patient is separately protected under HIPAA and is covered by our Notice of Privacy Practices, which you receive at your first appointment and can request from our office at any time.
Two Different Kinds of Information
It helps to separate these, because different rules apply to each:
What We Collect
When you contact us or book, you may give us your name, phone number, email address, preferred office, and whatever you choose to write in a message field. Please keep website messages general; don’t send detailed symptoms or medical history through a web form or ordinary email, because neither is a secure channel. Use the patient portal or call us instead.
When you use the site, our providers and we automatically receive standard technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, time on page, and the site that referred you. This site is built on the GoDaddy Website Builder platform, which uses cookies to analyze traffic. You’ll see a cookie notice on your first visit.
Scheduling, records, lab results, and secure messaging happen in OptiMantra, our patient portal. Payments are handled internally and processed by a third-party credit card processing vendor.
How We Use Your information
What We Don’t Do
We do not sell your personal or health information. We do not rent or trade patient lists. We do not share your health information with advertisers, and we do not use your treatment details to target ads to you.
When We Share Information
We share only what is necessary, and only with:
Insurance and Your Records
Because we don’t bill insurance, we are not routinely sending your health information to a carrier. If you decide to seek reimbursement yourself, we’ll give you the invoice and documentation, and you control what you submit.
Text and Email
If you give us your number, we may text or call you about appointments, labs, and prescriptions. Standard rates apply, and you can opt out of marketing messages by replying STOP or telling the office. Because regular email and SMS aren’t encrypted, we keep them limited to logistics and use the portal for anything clinical.
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies let the site remember your preferences and let us see aggregate traffic patterns, which pages get read, and where visitors arrive from. This data is aggregated and isn’t used to identify you individually. You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.
How We Protect Information
We use administrative, physical, and technical safeguards, including access controls on our systems, staff training, and vendors contractually obligated to maintain HIPAA-compliant security. No system is perfectly secure, and we can’t guarantee that information sent over the internet is completely safe in transit, which is again why sensitive details belong in the portal rather than in an email.
How Long We Keep It
Medical records are retained for the period Georgia law and our professional obligations require, 10 years. Website inquiries are kept only as long as needed to respond and for routine business records.
Your Rights
Regarding your medical records, HIPAA gives you the right to see and get a copy of them, ask us to correct errors, request restrictions on certain uses, request confidential communication through a specific channel, and receive an accounting of certain disclosures. Our Notice of Privacy Practices explains how to exercise each of these, and how to file a complaint with us or with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. You will never be retaliated against for filing one.
Regarding website information, you can ask us to delete an inquiry you submitted or correct your contact details by calling the office.
Children
Our services are for adults 18 and older. This site isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us, and we’ll delete it.
Third-Party Sites
Links to OptiMantra, our Thorne supplement dispensary, and our social media pages take you to services we don’t control. Their privacy policies govern what happens there, and we’d encourage you to read them.
Changes to This Policy
If our practices change, we’ll post the revised policy here and update the date at the top. Material changes affecting your health information will also be reflected in our Notice of Privacy Practices.
